We are amazed and overjoyed by the willingness of our catechists and other parent volunteers to give freely of their time, prayers and talents so this program can move forward. On behalf of all the families of our parish, I thank them for their dedication and efforts. Whilst we do all we can to help your child grow in faith and love for the Lord, parents are the first, and most important, teachers in faith. Home is where your child learns love; let them learn from you about our all-loving God. Home is where your child learns how adults behave; let them learn that adults pray, adults seek God’s guidance from His word by reading the Bible, adults go to Mass to worship God and to receive their spiritual sustenance from the Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. Home is where our hearts are; let your child know that God is in your heart and your home.
Children are natural theologians; they ask the big questions of life without fear or pause. Answer them with your faith, and let them lead you to a deeper relationship with our Lord. That’s how the Lord has been working in my life these last few years … your children have been a great gift to me! I hope and pray that religious education is not only a faith-filled and spiritual experience for your child, but that it is also such for your whole family. God bless us all.
